Some things we have been upto

I thought I would upload a few recent pictures of the kids doing a
few different things.

This is me and the Kids on Flynns Beach while we were in Port Macquarie. We went up for just under a week and stayed in a Resort. We checked out the sites but the purpose of our trip was to visit Gran (Becks Grandmother).

This is one of the sites we visited while at Port Macquarie. The Trial Bay Gaol, "was commenced in 1877 as an experiment in penal reform. It was constructed of locally quarried pink and gray granite with the first wing being completed in 1886 and completed in 1890.

It was closed in 1903 but reopened in 1915 to hold internees from Germany as a result of World War I, where they were allowed out onto the beaches during the day but locked up at night.

Trial Bay Gaol now houses a museum that covers the history of the gaol and is well worth the visit when you are in the area." reference

This is Smokey CapeLighthouse and was opened in 1891 to protect sailors from the rocky coastline in the area.

The lighthouse also served to direct sailors towards the entrance to the Macleay River, located just to the north of the lighthouse.

We popped in for a few hours, lucky we found it actually. Some workmen had pulled down the sign and were putting up a new one. I drove pasted the turnoff, if you could call it that (little trackof a road, lots of trees about)

This is it up close, doh...anyway. There was also a nice viewing platform there. We saw some Whales, can't remember what type but that was cool...

This is Cassie and Louis down at our local Beach. That's about as far as they go when it comes to the water. Unless I am with them, then I have Louis on my back, and Cassie holding onto my hands. Better that way for the moment, until they are better swimmers....both are doing swimming lessons each week. So by summer we should be able to spend more time at the beach, I might even be able to get on my surfboard for a bit....

This was taken on the same day as the one above. It was Mothers
day and we had a picnic down the beach with Steve, Julie and Andy.
Nice day, kids did some playing in the playground and on the Beach.
If I recall correctly, they came back soaking wet :-)

In this one Cassie and Louis are just chilling out on their bikes in the driveway at home.....I have taken them to a local bike track a few times...but I can't walk fast enough to keep up
:-)...and as usual, I haven't quite got around to putting some more air in the tyres of my push bike. Cause that would mean I would have to ride it.
